On December 31, 2004, a new year eve program was planned at the Sikh Temple Sacramento from 7:00 pm to midnight. The main prayer hall was overflowing with the congregation, who listened to various kirtan jathas and felt blessed by Waheguru for participating in this blissful experience.
At the same time in the Sikh Temple, Gurdwara Management Committee arranged the Tsunami Relief Fund Collection, and the attendees were requested to donate cash for this noble cause to help at the time of dire need. There was a continuous line of contributors, and by the end of the Bhog ceremony, $25,000 had been collected for this Relief Fund. This donation is planned to be sent as soon as possible to the relief organizations for the welfare of the Tsunami victim

It is extremely sad to announce that Mr. Jagat Singh Rye was involved in a car accident with a truck on Friday, June 30, 2006, and passed away. Mr. Rye co-founded the West Sacramento Gurdwara in 1983, and presently was Chairman of the Gurdwara Executive Committee. Mr. Rye was
one of the earliest volunteers and a determined leader of the Sikh Community in
Sacramento and Stockton areas. Mr. Rye’s death is an extreme loss to his
family, friends, West Sacramento Gurdwara, and to the Sacramento Sikh
Community. We pray that Waheguru
provide strength to his family to bear this untimely and irreplaceable loss.
